New waterproof Sony Xperia Z1S leak images continue to hit the Web. Until yesterday, we haven’t seen the device in the flesh but now we have a unique opportunity to glance at how the much-anticipated international variant of the minimized Sony smartphone will look like.
We already know that the device will boast a 4.3-inch camera (smaller than the one found on the original Z1), run powerful Snapdragon 800 system chip (similar to its bigger sibling) and have plenty of characteristics found in the original handset: powerful 20.7 MP camera with larger than usual 1/2.3” camera sensor as well as the same water- and dust-resistant body. However, there are some features that differ the two handsets.
Xperia Z1 vs Xperia Z1S Specs
As Sony Xperia Z1S is a minimized version of the previously released waterproof Sony smartphone, the device had to change a bit. Because of the smaller dimensions, the screen resolution has been lowered from 1080 x 1920 pixels to 720 x 1280 pixels. However, you’ll be able to enjoy a rather sharp pixel density of 340ppi.
In addition to the smaller screen size, Sony Xperia Z1S boasts a less powerful battery – instead of 3000mAh found in the Xperia Z1, the Sony Xperia Z1S has a 2300mAh battery.
When you take a closer look at the leak image, you will realize that we are now dealing with the international model of the Xperia Z1 mini. There is no Docomo logo found on the front panel of the device, and what is more, you will find the front-facing camera of the Z1S on the left side (on the Z1F it’s located on the right).
Sony has set its big event in Shanghai for November 12th, with invitations already sent out. Most likely, the international version of the 4.3-inch Sony Xperia Z1S will be announced then as well. Let’s wait and see…
