Official Motorola X Release Date Revealed

Eager to try the brand new Motorola Moto X handset but still don’t know when to expect it? Let us share the latest rumors with you. The smartphone will reportedly start shipping somewhere late August – early September, though exact Motorola X release date has not been specified yet.

Rumor has it the Motorola Moto X will be available via three official carriers: AT&T, Verizon and Sprint. Unfortunately, nothing is known about its availability via T-Mobile. AT&T subscribers will be the first to get the handset starting August 23rd. The fact that the carrier will be the first to offer the gadget brings a number of privileges to its customers, who will be free to subscribe to Motor Maker website for choosing 16 Moto X color options. Besides, AT&T will have an exclusive offer for its subscribers: it will be the only carrier to let you customize the Moto X design. Color customization extends not only on the rear panel but also on the volume rocker, camera ring and power button.

Verizon has set Motorola X release date for August 29th, according to the leaked Best Buy inventory.

Motorola X Specs

As a reminder, the Motorola Moto X was first unveiled this month in New York City and the main Motorola X specs are:

  • Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean;
  • a 4.7-inch 720p screen;
  • a 10 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front facing one;
  • 2GB of RAM;
  • Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor;
  • 16 or 32GB of storage options.


I guess you wonder how much the upcoming motorola phones will cost. All of the carriers mentioned above will be selling the handset starting at $199.99 on contract. So, you will get a 16GB model for $199.99 and a 32GB one for $249.99 (AT&T price).
