Nexus 7 Infringes Nokia’s WI-FI Technology
Barely two weeks have passed since the release of the Nexus 7, and it’s already bashed with patent-infringement claims. Google introduced its 7 inch tablet built by Asus at Google I/O conference in San Francisco last week. The gadget runs Android’s new Jelly Bean version; it was well accepted by fans because of its low cost and the article by GIZMODO called it “the best way to spend $200.” Nevertheless, Nokia claims that the Nexus uses Wi-Fi technology covered by its patents and neither Google nor Asus talked with Nokia about licensing.
Samsung Barred From U.S. Nexus Phone Sales in Apple Suit
Samsung was prevented from selling its Galaxy Nexus smartphone on the territory of the U.S. This was the ruling made by U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh. Adam Yates, a Samsung spokesman, said that Judge Lucy Koh’s ruling has immensely disappointed Samsung as US consumers were restricted from making their own decision with regards to the choice of smartphones. Yates though has assured US consumers that they will take all the necessary measures, including legal action, just to give consumers the opportunity to purchase Galaxy Nexus.
