Go Launcher Team Teases October 25-27 Android 4.4 KitKat Launch

Get ready to meet Android 4.4 KitKat TODAY! According to tweets and Facebook posts of GO Launcher team, the much-anticipated Android update is to see the light of day on October 25. Earlier it was rumored that Android 4.4 launch might be rescheduled for November owing to some delays, but those of us who follow up GO Launcher’s socials feeds will make sure that the official announcement says different.

For those of you who is not familiar with Go Launcher, it’s Android custom launcher that lets you customize icons, apply themes, and what not. On Thursday, the team made a couple of posts on Facebook and Twitter teasing Android 4.4 KitKat launch before the end of the week. Here is what Go Launcher’s tweet says:

Still, there is some confusion of the exact Android 4.4 KitKat release day. The messages published on Twitter say the update will roll out tomorrow (today), but taking into consideration that Go Launcher team is located in China we may assume that while they were sharing the tweet it was Friday already. The latter means that most likely “tomorrow” is Saturday and we really doubt that the press event would be held on weekend. At the same time, not much is known whether the media have already received invitations, and those of them who HAVE, don’t give any comments.

As a reminder, the rumored Android 4.4 features include:

  • New notification widgets
  • Miracast updates
  • Filmware availability to older phones
  • New Gallery Visualisation
  • Fragmentation changes (screen resizing)
  • New API regarding animations
  • Android default blue can be changed to other color schemes

I can’t understand why Google doesn’t make the official announcement about Android 4.4 launch event… Anyway, we’ll keep you updated as soon and we hear anything new from the search giant. Stay tuned!
