Telus Nexus 5 Leak Press Images. Android 4.4 KtKat Features Confirmed

We’ve already heard a lot of rumors and seen many Nexus 5 leak images, but today’s information is worth your attention. Latest Nexus 5 leak images show what will be the new Google device for the Canadian carrier Telus.

In general, there is nothing new about this handset. As it was earlier reported, in terms of design the Nexus 5 will have the volume rocker on the left hand side and the power button can be found on the right. On the top of the front panel, there will be a circular speaker as well as the front facing camera. Among the rest of Google Nexus specs we may highlight the following:

  • Display: 5-inch Full HD display, 442 ppi (potentially 4.97-inch)
  • Processor: 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snadragon 800
  • RAM: 2GB
  • Internal Storage: 16GB/32GB
  • Cameras: 8MP rear + 1.2MP front
  • Sensors: accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity, light, barometer, orientation
  • Battery: 2300mAh (via FCC) and wireless charging
  • Connectivity: LTE, NFC

As expected, the Nexus 5 is will be the first handset to come with Android 4.4 KitKat on board. On the leak image above you may see how Android 4.4 home screen will look like.

The notification bar is now transparent, all of the icons are white, the dock has been simplified and now you can find camera, Chrome, Hangouts, and Phone shortcuts there. In addition, Android 4.4 KitKat is expected to boast a transparent app drawer, meaning that now instead of the black background you’ll see your wallpaper. And finally, one of the features I’ve been waiting for is the addition of dots to indicate the general number of screens you’ve set up. This is the feature that appeared on iOS devices years ago. Now it’s high time for Android users to see how it works on their own.

The rest of Android 4.4 KtKat features include:

  • New notification widgets
  • Miracast updates
  • Filmware availability to older phones
  • New Gallery Visualisation
  • Fragmentation changes (screen resizing)
  • New API regarding animations
  • Android default blue can be changed to other color schemes

Nexus 5 Price and Availability

Google Nexus 5 is expected to arrive later this month in two storage options. 16GB Nexus 5 price tag is expected to make up $299, while the 32GB model will cost $399. Report goes the announcement might come as early as October 21st. Let’s wait and see.

As per Google Nexus 5 US availability, Best Buy manager claims there would not be the same supply issues we saw with the Nexus 4 release. Google shares it has plenty of devices in stock and will launch the Nexus 5 in multiple retail stores and carriers. Rumor has it, the new Android handset will be available on carriers like AT&T and T-Mobile, Sprint and Verizon are not likely to carry the device at first.
