ASUS is known for its amazing laptops and tablets. Now the company moves even further introducing two new ASUS budget smartphones. We all were impressed to see three new ZenFones and two new PadFones presented at CES in LA. Smartphone buyers will be able to look forward to a new trio of ASUS ZenFone lineup, which includes 4” and 5” smartphones and a 6” device that is definitely in phablet category already.
As you’ve already guessed, the key feature that will differ the three is the form factor. ASUS ZenFone 4 will come with a 4-inch 800×480 display. The company has chosen Intel processors to power its new lineup. In such a way, the ZenFone 4 will come with Intel Z2520, 1.2GHz CPU under the hood. The smartphone is to come with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. As per the camera specs, the device is to come with both front- and rear-facing shooters, measuring 5MP and 0.3MP, respectively. Being low weight (115g only), the device will be available in five vibrant colors — Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, Sky Blue, Solar Yellow. According to ASUS, ZenFone 4 is the great-value handset for young people who demand the perfect companion for their mobile lifestyles. The ASUS ZenFone pricing will start at $99. Rather cheap, huh?
Next come the ZenFone 5 and ZenFone 6, which are to come with almost the same features. Both new ASUS phones will boast 1280×720 HP IPS displays, be powered by Intel Z2580 processor, 2GHz, feature 2GB of RAM and a 2MP front-facing shooter. This is where similarities end.
As per the ZenFone 5 vs ZenFone 6 differences, the ZenFone 5 will arrive with an 8MP rear camera, while the ZenFone 6 phablet will boast a 13MP one. Both new ASUS smartphones will be powerful enough – the ZenFone 5 will have a 2050mAh battery, the ZenFone 6 – 3230mAh. Weighing 200g, the ZenFone 6 will be a heavier than the 144g ZenFone 5. While the ASUS ZenFone 6 will cost $199, the ZenFone 5 price tag will start at $149. ZenFone 5 will be available in four statement colors — Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, and Champagne Gold. ZenFone 6 will be available in the same four statement colors — Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Cherry Red, and Champagne Gold.
Do all three ASUS budget smartphones have anything is common but for the low price? Sure they do! All three devices will be running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box, with Android 4.4 KitKat update to follow. All three new ASUS Android smartphones will support Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 connection, two SIM card slots, microSD cardslot, and HSPA+ USB modems. Unfortunately, the official release dates of the three new ASUS budget smartphones have not been unveiled yet. Let’s wait and see…
