Top New Curved OLED Smartphones Q4

The first on the list is Samsung Galaxy Round, which curves on the vertical, similar to Samsung OLED TVs. The Galaxy Round is rumored to be the first curved OLED smartphone ever released. Despite a number of new features like the Gravity effect, Bounce UX and Side Mirror, the device is to boast a number of characteristics similar to the Galaxy Note 3.

Among the key Galaxy Round specs we’ll highlight the following:

  • OS: Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
  • Display: 5.7-inch 1920 x 1080 pixels Super AMOLED
  • Cameras: 13 MP rear + 2 MP front
  • CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 800, 2.3GHz quad-core
  • Battery: 2800 mAh
  • RAM: 3GB
  • Storage: 32GB
  • microSD: Yes
  • Connectivity: GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, microUSB
  • Dimensions: 151.1 x 79.6 x 7.9 mm

The smartphone was released on October 10th. South Korea is the first to try how this curved OLED smartphone works. The handset launched on SK Telecom in Luxury Brown for 1.09 million won (about $1,013). The date of the international launch has not been announced yet.

LG doesn’t lag behind the leading smartphone makers and also launches a curved OLED smartphone dubbed the G Flex. Not much is known about its specs, however we’ve manages to find out that LG G Flex would come with Snapdragon 800 chip with Adreno 330 graphics. It’s been officially revealed that 6-inch LG flexible displays will be unbreakable, weighing 7.2g only.

We’ve heard that LG G Flex will be coming to Koria’s U+ carrier. As per the global launch, the device will be likely codenamed LG Z. As we’ve already mentioned, LG G Flex (LG Z) will be launched in limited edition only, LG is not likely to launch more than 300.000 units per month.

While LG is to launch a 6-inch LG G Flex somewhere in November, Samsung has announced about its Galaxy Note 3 Active October release. According to the Asian Daily, Samsung flexi-screen phone won’t differ from other devices a lot, it will be as solid as ever. The main prerogative of such a screen is that it is malleable and should be virtually unbreakable. Most likely, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Active will boast such a feature.

Why a limited edition, you will ask? Since a flexible screen is a rather new technology, Samsung won’t be able to start a mass production of such gadgets, hence the limited quantity. Following the rumor that the company will launch its first flexi-screen phone this November already, we might learn more about its additional features and price tag in the nearest future already.

Both LG and Samsung are rumored to release their new flagship devices later this month. Report goes, LG is reading a curved display of its own. The first LG bendable phone is already in production and is to see the light of day by the end of this month.

But for these three curved OLED smartphones, we are also expecting two new Apple tablets to see the light of day, as well as the new Nokia Lumia 1520, Google’s Nexus 5, and more.

Stay tuned – we’ll keep you updated as soon as the new flexi-screen phones are released.

I believe Damn near all leaks are intentional these days. From Samsung, Lg, apple to the Nexus 5. Cheap promotion I guess

I’m sure curved display technology is a useful step in the development of displays, but I don’t think a -vintage smartphone display is a good example of its potential; at this point it’s little more than a gimmick
