LG G Flex: First LG Bendable Phone Launch

After the recent announcement about the first flexible display Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Active launch, it’s hardly possible to impress us with anything new. However, I guess LG will make an attempt and present its first flexible smartphone nicknamed LG G Flex. Actually, it’s rumored to be the first LG bendable phone ever. Let’s see what makes the device so special, aside of the curvable handheld of course.

The LG G Flex will be the first commercially available smartphone with bendable 6-inch OLED display with 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution. Other LG F340 specs that have leaked on the Web include Snapdragon 800 chipset and Adreno 330 graphics processor. The phone will be made from plastic instead of metal, which might make the phone lighter and easier to grip.

LG Bendable Phone Release

Both LG and Samsung are rumored to release their new flagship devices later this month. Report goes, LG is reading a curved display of its own. The first LG bendable phone is already in production and is to see the light of day by the end of this month.

Though both smartphone makers are to announce their new devices in October, don’t expect to put your hands on one too easily. Rumor has it both handsets will be launched in limited quantity, most likely in Korea only.

A flexible display doesn’t mean the phone will be able to bend physically. Most likely, the display will be set at a curved position. For the first time LG revealed its flexible displays in a press release this May, revealing a curved 55” OLED TV display as well as a 5” plastic OLED screen.

It’s a busy period for LG now. Alongside with working on curved displays, the company is also to launch Google’s Nexus 5 in the next several weeks.
