Samsung has released a new Android smartphone that is set to be for those who always wanted a Android phone but couldn’t afford one. The new Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate will cost from $49.99 to $29.99 along with a two year service agreement. The price is good but some people might be worried that its low price could be a reflection of what one should expect quality-wise. However, the Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate is an excellent phone; it has features that are similar to those on the Galaxy S Blaze 4G. AT&T which also contributed to the price cut, installed their 4G LTE, which makes the phone very fast in file transferring. It also has a dual-core processor, a 4-inch AMOLED display, and a 5 megapixel camera, which is not too bad.
Although the value-to-price is in the customers favour the phone does have a few draw backs. The camera for instance is not very impressive, and chances are it will not get a Android 4 update. AT&T claimed that this is the first eco-conscious handset on the market which has a smaller carbon footprint; it should be considered a favour they are doing to customers. The handset its self has a simple design, which is almost the same as that one found on the earlier Galaxy S phones. It has relatively comfortable handling although its thicker and heavier that the Samsung Galaxy S3, and also fits perfectly in a typical pocket. The AMOLED screen on a 4-inch display results in it having a excellent screen just like the one on the Galaxy S Blaze 4G. Is has a few extra features that make it a even better phone, the Swype virtual keyboard option and runs on Android 2.3.
The Exhilarate has a battery life of 7 hours talk time, and will last for about 11 days when it’s on stand-by. Although the processor is not all that top notch, it is suitable to run on a daily basis at a good rate. The Exhilarate looks very good on paper, and now according to tests it is even better in real-world application. There is still room for improvements though, they can add a better camera, make it even fancier. However, it is a good mediocre phone but yet it comes for a very low price.
