Mobile World Congress is going to kick off in Barcelona on the 25th of February. On the eve of the big event there were a few phones that really made a big impact on us. Here is a list of some of the A listers that you can expect this season.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 – This is officially not a phone, however the tablet has calling abilities thus can substitute as your handset as well. It is definitely good with a vibrant 1280×800 touch screen that is really responsive. Detailed pictures coupled with a sleek design and a lightweight device, the tablet sure packs a punch. Powered by an 1.6GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean device can manage most tasks with impunity.
Huawei Ascend P2- This is being touted as the fastest 4G smartphone out there. Capable of downloading as fast as 150Mbps it is a boon for serious internet users if they can find a service provider that can cope with such speed. A 13.1 megapixel rear camera coupled with a 315ppi 4.7 inch screen makes it a fair buy. The finish is a little plasticky but at the price on offer this is expected. Powered by 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM the Android phone can manage most tasks smoothly and is a great buy for 399 Euros.
ZTE Open- This is by no means one of the premium entries of the MWC. Chunky to look at with a 3.5inch 480×320 display it is definitely a basic phone. What sets it apart though is the fact that it is the first phone to come with a Mozilla Firefox operating system. The phone is meant for entry level market but would also be a good buy for the techies in the world wanting to get a taste of the new Firefox OS without breaking their bank.
